Sisters Network® Inc. is committed to increasing local and national attention to the devastating impact that breast cancer has in the African American community.
Sisters Network® Inc. addresses the breast health needs of African American women, through its affiliate chapters, and partnerships with existing service providers. The San Francisco chapter is organized by local breast cancer survivors who are committed to establishing the much needed community breast health services. In collaboration with Asian American Cancer Support Network, Chinatown Public Health Center and Sisters Network, Grace Yoo, Ph.D. at San Francisco State University is studying the effectiveness of peer support among recently diagnosed breast cancer patients.
SEEKING BREAST CANCER PATIENTS WHO ARE:
§ Over the age of 18 at the time of diagnosis
§ Diagnosed and treated with Stage I or II or III breast cancer within the last 12 months
§ African American or Asian American
§ Have fluency or proficiency in English or Cantonese

FOR ENROLLMENT INFORMATION
Study participation requires 8 weekly face to face and/or phone meetings and completion of two interviews and surveys. Participants will receive $100 at the completion of the study.
